Track Renewal of the Halkapınar Maintenance and Stabling Yard, İzmir
The railway infrastructure of the Halkapınar train maintenance and stabling yard (depot tracks) in İzmir was renewed on behalf of the TCDD 3rd Regional Directorate. 4,000 m of old track was dismantled and 3,000 m of new track laid, with 21 turnouts installed and 430 aluminothermic welds made. Maintenance pits, yard concrete, structural steelwork and precast drainage channels were also important parts of the job.
